Character Descriptions
NOTE: Do not limit yourself. We are looking to cast all ages! Come and play!

1. Charlie Brown
-
Description: The central figure of the musical, Charlie Brown is a kind-hearted, well-meaning kid who is always trying to do the right thing despite frequent failures and disappointments. He’s deeply introspective, socially awkward, and perpetually plagued by self-doubt. Whether he’s trying to fly a kite, talk to the Little Red-Haired Girl, or win a baseball game, Charlie never gives up—making him the emotional core of the show.
-
Gender: Male
-
Vocal Range: Baritone (Bb2 – F4)
-
Age Range: Flexible
2. Lucy Van Pelt
-
Description: Lucy is outspoken, domineering, and often brash. She considers herself an authority on everything and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, especially when it comes to criticizing Charlie Brown. She’s also extremely confident—sometimes to a fault—and dreams of greatness. Beneath her tough exterior, however, there are glimpses of vulnerability, particularly when it comes to her feelings for Schroeder.
-
Gender: Female
-
Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (G3 – F5)
-
Age Range: Flexible
3. Linus Van Pelt
-
Description: Linus is Lucy’s younger brother, wise beyond his years. Philosophical and thoughtful, he often serves as the voice of reason among his friends. Despite his intellect and calm demeanor, he remains attached to his security blanket, creating a charming juxtaposition between maturity and childhood innocence. His loyalty and insight make him a grounding force in the group.
-
Gender: Male
-
Vocal Range: Baritone (Bb2 – E4)

-

4. Sally Brown
-
Description: Sally is Charlie Brown’s precocious younger sister. She is quirky, clever, and full of surprising observations about the world around her. Sally often misinterprets adult ideas in amusing ways and can be melodramatic, especially when it comes to school or “love.” Her imaginative spirit and comic timing bring a light, whimsical energy to the show.
-
Gender: Female
-
Vocal Range: Soprano (B3 – G5)
-

5. Schroeder
-
Description: Schroeder is a serious and passionate young pianist whose idolization of Beethoven borders on obsession. He is highly focused on his music and is often oblivious to Lucy’s relentless advances. Artistic and introverted, Schroeder embodies the stereotype of the brooding genius, but his youthful earnestness keeps him grounded in the childlike world of the Peanuts gang.
-

-
Age Range: Flexible
6. Snoopy
-
Description: Snoopy is Charlie Brown’s loyal but eccentric beagle. Playful, expressive, and often the comic highlight of the show, Snoopy doesn’t speak in the Peanuts comics but sings and dances here, making the role physically and vocally demanding in a fun, energetic way.
-
