Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Education, Camp Counselors are energetic, passionate individuals with a passion for both education and performance arts. Assisting the Teaching Artists and Education team in their delivery of successful performance based summer camps, a camp counselor helps to ensure that students are supported in their artistic journey, and that students grow in the areas of Care, Confidence, and Competency.

The Props Master take the lead on the fabrication, assembling, tracking, and acquiring of all props needed for the production camp, owning the process from start to finish. The props master will also be responsible for helping train students on the process of prop creation, through a series of mini skill workshops.

Essential Functions

Oversee, manage, and acquire use of microphones for use during production camp

Ensure camps are properly equipped with mics prior to needed rehearsals and performances

Become familiar and utilize with venue sound system during performances

Represent and uphold Perry Ryan in culture in all dealings with the public

Attend pre-production meetings in order to help capture the artistic vision of the production during showtime.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Education, the Set Builder/Designer is an energetic, passionate, experienced individual with a passion for the performance arts. The Set Designer/Builder (in collaboration with the director) design, build, and otherwise create the set needed for the production camp, owning the process from start to finish. The Set Designer/Builder will make safety paramount, and ensure that all set pieces live up to the Perry Ryan standard of performance quality.
Essential Functions

Design, create, and build the set for production camp

Manage a budget and ensure successful delivery within the bounds of budget

Adhere to Perry Ryan culture in all offerings, and serve as a representative of Perry Ryan when interacting with the public

Foster a supportive and creative environment for Perry Ryan Summer Camps

Work with the director to ensure safety and performance needs are met
-
Be responsible for the delivery of set pieces on site, and successful strike of these pieces after camp

Communicate set constraints and problem areas to director, and ensure resolutions are met.

Assist in Load-In/Load-Out for camp, ensuring all set pieces are properly broken down as advised by Education Manager

Participate in optional marketing opportunities

Participate in camp creative team pre and post meetings

Minimum Qualifications

1+ year experience working with children (babysitting, youth groups, childrens’ church groups, summer camps, etc.)

Previous experience in theater performance

Previous experience in set building

Applicants must be 18+ to apply

Proven ability to interact successfully with students ages 9-17

Able to stand, walk, and interact with children and adults for extended periods of time

Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable personal transportation required

Duties and Responsibilities

The House Manager shall be responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all front-of-house activities for the Production, including but not limited to:

A. Pre-Performance
-
Design and implement a lobby design consistent with a Perry Ryan standard. Work with the director to ensure consistency between what is happening on stage lives well with what happens in the lobby.

Arrive at the theater at least 1.5 hours prior to each performance to conduct a pre-show walkthrough ensuring the lobby, restrooms, and front-of-house areas are clean, safe, and welcoming.

Oversee the set up and maintenance of entire lobby space for the duration of the run.

Recruit volunteer for house staff to include concessions, box office, ushers and any other staff deemed necessary to make lobby activities run smoothly. And make sure they are adequately trained to perform their duties well.

Ensure programs and promotional materials are prepared and distributed.

B. Performance Time
-
Oversee guest entry, seating, and late seating according to company policy.

Address patron concerns, seating issues, or emergencies with professionalism and courtesy.

Communicate with stage management regarding audience readiness, late seating holds, and performance start times.
-
Monitor lobby and public areas for safety and order throughout the performance.

C. Post-Performance
-
Supervise audience departure and lost & found procedures.

Ensure the lobby, house, restrooms, and public spaces are left in clean and orderly condition.

If needed, provide post-show reports to stage management.

Secure all front-of-house areas before leaving the venue.

Oversee strike of areas of responsibility- including volunteer recruitment to accomplish goal.
