One of the most underrated forms of performance art, Improv Essentials dives beyond just games and jokes, and instills students with the foundation of reaction based, partner driven storytelling. Whether your artist wants to improve their ability to handle a mishap during a show with grace, or whether they want to explore experimental storytelling, Improv Essentials will provide them the tools to truly “live truthfully under imaginary circumstances” even if they are creating the circumstances as they go along.

On Broadway, there are three things you need to become a triple threat. A strong singing voice, incredible acting, and phenomenal dancing. In this course, students will be given an overview of dance in the musical theatre canon, especially as it connects to the styles of Jazz and Tap. Through workshop sessions and combinations, students will walk away empowered to handle the choreography given to them in their next show, and have the skills and tools needed to embrace movement with confidence.

Has your student expressed an interest in performing on stage, but you don’t know where to start? Are they an avid storyteller, but don’t yet have an avenue to express that? Acting Out at Perry Ryan Theater is the place for them. Designed for students who are at the start of their acting journey, or need some help building their confidence on stage, Acting Out utilizes theater games and scene workshops to build the fundamentals of acting into your young artist.

All classes will take place at 205 SE 2nd Street, Bentonville, AR 72712.
